Myofascial Stretching are very specific exercises that work to correct soft tissue imbalances throughout the body. Everyone knows about the benefits of individual muscle stretching. However, it is more advantageous to consider each muscle in relation to another, thus creating a muscular chain extending throughout the entire body.
To properly perform a Myofascial Stretch, it is essential to think about the “links” within a chain. To do this you must first place the aponeurotic sleeve, a ribbon of material wrapping and connecting all muscles together called fasciae under tension in ALL directions to allow that particular fascia to become FREE from the other surrounding tissue. This is how you respect the global organization of the fasciae.
With myofascial stretching (MFS), the goal is not to gain flexibility of a muscle, but to improve the quality of the movement of the tissues in relation to one another. MFS is the only type of stretching that respects this organization.
During the three days you will learn over 100 myofascial Stretches, you will also be introduced to the Paradigm of the Soma Training program including an introduction into Tensegrity Biomechanics relational Anatomy.
